An efficient crafter can have a shield or bow being researched at the woodworking station and a sword being researched at the blacksmithing station simultaneously. Initially, only one item can be researched at a time (per crafting skill). Fortunately, the player does not have to stand at the woodworking station this entire time, but can continue quests or play a lute, whatever they desire. The first trait a player researches for a particular item will take 6 hours, the second trait researched for that SAME ITEM will be 12 hours, third will be 24 – YES!! This process will sometimes take days! I told you – Time-consuming. None of these methods are guaranteed, but the gems are not impossible to come across.Īs stated before, researching is very time-consuming. They can be randomly dropped from chopped wood, processed when refining wood, generated from deconstruction, given to the player by using the hireling skill, traded with another player or can be found throughout the world when looting. Trait gems can be acquired in a variety of ways. There are currently 8 gems specific to armor and 8 gems specific to weapons, giving a total of 16 different types of trait gems. Notably, armor and weapon traits and trait gems are separated and provide different boosts. The player will then be able to use the trait when crafting in the creation tab. The player’s return on investment is the unlocked trait available specific to the item. When a player submits an item for research, the item will be consumed and destroyed.
